Eating healthy every day is a good idea and can be an important part of your treatment plan. Fill your plate with vegetables, fruits, and lean meats like chicken. It’s also important to limit the amount of cookies, cakes, candy, and fried fatty foods you eat. Work with your treatment team to find a nutritionist or other resources to help you learn more about a balanced diet.
Ask your healthcare provider about exercise and your treatment plan. If your healthcare provider recommends activity, one of your treatment goals could be to find an exercise partner. A simple activity like taking a walk can be a positive change. If you can’t get outside, try an exercise routine online. Just make sure to talk to your healthcare provider first before you begin any activity.
Do not become too hot or dehydrated while you receive ARISTADA® (aripiprazole lauroxil).
People with schizophrenia are more likely to have an alcohol abuse or drug abuse problem than the general population. Cigarette smoking is 3 times more common in people with schizophrenia. This is important because alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and cigarettes may affect the medicines you are taking and may even make symptoms worse. If you think you have a problem with drugs and/or alcohol, talk to your treatment team about getting help. And if you smoke, your healthcare provider may need to help you when you’re ready to quit.
Do not drink alcohol while you receive ARISTADA.
